Vietnam Film Symposium
In October 2007 I served as the videographer for NETPAC's Vietnam Film Symposium that traveled to Honolulu, Seattle, and Los Angeles to discuss NETPAC's release of the English translation of Vietnamese film critic Ngo Phuong Lan's book "Modernity and Nationality in Vietnamese Cinema", screen Vietnamese director Pham Nhue Giang's film "The Deserted Valley", and discuss various issues relating to Vietnamese cinema past and present. Lan and Giang both took part in the symposium, as did Singapore Film Festival director and co-editor of the English version of Lan's book Philip Cheah.
