Christoph's Visit

My good friend Christoph visited Beijing for a conference where they actually let him present a paper he wrote. Poor audience. Hehe. My girlfriend Narenhua and I decided to take him around central Beijing to see Tiananmen, the Forbidden City, etc. It was pretty hot though, and Christoph (who is from Switzerland and most likely his body is mostly comprised of chocolate) almost melted after two hours, so we decided to spend the rest of the day shopping at the Silk Market instead. Obviously almost all my pictures are from the first half of the day. We met several of his really fun co-workers for dinner and discovered they work for the same company that just employed Narenhua. Small world. They treated us to dinner (again) a few nights later, and then Narenhua and I took Christoph to Sanlitun bar area for crazy fun with Chinese dice. Don't ask.
